The Role

Reporting into the finance team, you'll work closely with Commercial Managers, Quantity Surveyors and Operations, providing meaningful financial insights across multiple projects and contracts.

This is a commercially focused role where you'll have the opportunity to influence decision-making, improve reporting processes and help drive business performance.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare monthly management accounts, including P&L, Balance Sheet and Cashflow reporting.
• Complete variance analysis and provide clear financial commentary.
• Monitor project profitability, job costing and financial performance.
• Support budgeting, forecasting and cashflow planning.
• Partner with operational and commercial teams to provide financial insight and recommendations.
• Monitor WIP, project margins, revenue recognition and cost control.
• Assist with month-end processes, reconciliations, accruals and prepayments.
• Support audits, statutory reporting and financial compliance.
• Develop reporting dashboards and identify opportunities to improve finance processes.
• Contribute to continuous improvement across reporting, controls and systems.

What We're Looking For

• Qualified or part-qualified ACCA, ACA, CIMA or CPA, or equivalent relevant experience.
• Approximately 3-6+ years' experience in Management Accounting or a similar finance role.
• Strong experience preparing management accounts and financial reporting.
• Experience with project accounting, job costing or cost control.
• Excellent Excel and analytical skills.
• Ability to communicate financial information clearly to operational and non-finance stakeholders.
• Strong attention to detail with excellent organisational skills.

Desirable experience includes:

• Construction, utilities, engineering, infrastructure or project-based environments.
• WIP reporting, revenue recognition and project margin analysis.
• Power BI or dashboard reporting.
• ERP or project costing systems.

The Role

• Experience within public lighting, utilities, civils, electrical infrastructure or similar sectors is highly desirable.
• Strong knowledge of project planning, scheduling, budgeting and stakeholder management.
• Excellent leadership, communication and organisational skills.
• Strong understanding of Health & Safety legislation and electrical standards.
• Experience using project management systems and Microsoft Project is desirable.
