We're working with a leading medical device manufacturer who are growing their NPI (New Product Introduction) team. They're looking for a Senior NPI Engineer who can hit the ground running and lead the full transfer of innovative product designs into commercial manufacturing. This is a key hire—ideal for someone who thrives on autonomy, values cross-functional collaboration, and has a strong track record in the Medical Devices space.
What the Role Involves:
You’ll be the go-to person when it comes to managing the end-to-end transfer of new products (and their packaging) from design freeze through to commercial launch. This includes working closely with internal teams—Quality, Ops, Design, Materials—as well as building great relationships with external partners and customers.
You’ll take ownership of:
- Leading cross-functional project teams to deliver on quality, timeline, and budget targets.
- Building and managing transfer plans and project roadmaps in collaboration with technical and functional leads.
- Presenting regular project updates to customers and senior leadership.
- Making sure everything aligns with internal stage-gate processes—across quality, regulatory, and commercial goals.
- Driving new product introductions through:
- Scaling and validating new product & packaging
- Sourcing and qualifying materials and suppliers
- Coordinating equipment/facility needs and production planning
- Setting up production processes and documentation
- Supporting design controls, FMEAs, DOEs and CAD
- Overseeing V&V (verification & validation) testing and process validation
What You’ll Bring:
- At least 5 years’ experience in a regulated medical device environment, specifically in NPI or product transfer roles
- Degree qualified in Engineering or a related field
- A solid understanding of mechanical design and material selection
- Strong documentation skills, a sharp eye for detail, and clear communication across all levels
- The ability to manage projects independently while keeping everyone—from engineers to execs—in the loop
