My client in Galway are currently looking for a Snr Equipment Design Engineer. As a Senior Equipment Design Engineer, you will report directly to the Engineering Manager or designated Engineering Leader. Your primary responsibility will be to design innovative equipment solutions for a wide range of clients, ensuring projects are delivered on time, within budget, and according to the project scope.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the entire machine design process, from initial concept through to final release.
- Deliver reliable and high-performance designs while anticipating and addressing potential build, debug, and performance issues.
- Ensure all designs comply with relevant regulatory, safety, and CE requirements.
- Utilize 3D and 2D CAD software to create detailed models, drawings, and Bills of Materials (BOM) aligned with client specifications.
- Specify system components or modify products to meet engineering and performance standards.
- Produce technical documentation such as data sheets, drawings, operating manuals, and test procedures.
- Prepare tooling drawings and pneumatic schematics as required.
- Take responsibility for the quality, commissioning, and safety of completed designs.
- Ensure all project documentation is accurate and up to date.
- Seek out more efficient and cost-effective ways to meet quality and schedule requirements.
- Liaise with customers to understand requirements and ensure project deliverables are met.
- Manage communication with internal and external stakeholders regarding project progress.
- Monitor and mitigate project risks through proactive actions.
- Mentor and provide technical guidance to less experienced engineers.
- Support technical sales by contributing to machine concepts and cost estimation.
- Lead continuous improvement initiatives within the engineering team.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering (BSc or BEng).
- A minimum of 6 years of experience in an equipment design role.
- Experience with equipment design for cleanroom environments (an advantage).
