The successful candidate will have ownership, accountability and responsibility for the management of all quality related activity on the assigned value stream in the Galway plant. The focus will be on implementing a robust preventative quality program across all associated value stream processes as well as mistake proofing the product build at source and validation all critical processes at source. The role will include managing all quality product and process issues on a timely basis, identification of root cause, corrective action, and the implementation of identified solution with control plans. This role will be key member of the Value stream team and will work closely with the product group lead, training instructor, PDI, design engineering, manufacturing engineer, supplier quality team, and customer facing quality team. This role will also be responsible for setting and achieving all the value stream quality related product and process KPIs, ensuring that the product is meeting the design requirements and associated ICQ metrics. This position will report to the Galway Quality Manager.

 

Core Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Early identification of all potential Quality related Product and Process potential issues, through DFMEA, PFMEA and associated control plans.
  • Managing the Validation at source of all key processes with the focus on early identification and instant response when potential issues are identified.
  • Support all Customer facing activity as needed.
  • Management of associated Quality metrics, setting continuous improvement goals and objectives, reporting status through the various review processes, such as Daily Gemba, Mission Control, Monthly Value Stream Review, MDI, PDE.
  • Manage all Quality related Corrective Actions and ensure that all issues are closed in a timely manner.
  • Manage Feedback performance at various stages of the process, to suppliers, design team, quality teams, and the operations team, leading to performance improvements when required.
  • Monitor A&B warranty claims to identify and resolve Customer issues promptly.
  • Analyze production data, product and process verification steps, complete problem break-down and analysis when required.
  • Record and Report daily issues during the daily Gemba walks, MDI reviews, managing A3’s when required.
  • Maintain accurate records of all actions taken, Corrective Action, Engineering changes, process changes to ensure accurate data and traceability per Serial Number is maintained.
  • Ensure that all Product and Process areas of responsibility meet the required criteria and standards, such as ISO standards, Customer audits
  • Demonstrate a strong engineering and technical knowledge, both on product and systems knowledge, such as ProE, Windchill, utilizing this to make timely and accurate decisions that will result in Product and process improvements that meet customer expectations and requirements.

 

Supporting Duties & Responsibilities as required:

  • Support the Warranty team on technical related issues, such as product technical support and evaluation of field failures, and/or Warranty claims on an as need basis.
  • Support the Galway quality team on the utilization of the Business Operating System.

 

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Degree in engineering with 5 years engineering experience in quality, manufacturing or design engineering is essential.
  • Strong product and process knowledge, in areas such as IRPDP, NPI
  • Strong competence in data analysis, root cause analysis, and the timely implementation of corrective action.
