Our client, a leading manufacturer of advanced engineered products, is seeking an experienced Production Manager to oversee day-to-day operations at their headquarters in Tuam, Co. Galway. About the Role
This role centres on strong leadership and effective team management. The successful candidate will guide production teams, ensure high standards of quality and efficiency, and foster a culture built on safety, collaboration, and continuous improvement. You will work closely with cross-functional partners to ensure a smooth flow of operations and ongoing performance enhancements.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead, motivate, and coach production teams to achieve operational targets and maintain a positive, high-performance culture.
- Oversee daily production activities to ensure output, quality, and efficiency objectives are consistently met.
- Develop and manage production schedules in line with demand forecasts and available capacity.
- Monitor production KPIs, analyse performance data, and implement improvement actions where required.
- Ensure full compliance with health, safety, and environmental standards—promoting a safety-first mindset across the team.
- Collaborate with R&D, operations, service, and after-sales teams to support new product introductions and ongoing product enhancements.
- Champion continuous improvement using Lean methodologies, 5S, and structured problem-solving techniques.
- Optimise labour planning, equipment utilisation, and material flow to support cost-effective operations.
- Maintain accurate documentation, reports, and production records as required.
- Oversee production administration and manage purchasing of components and consumables to support production needs.
Skills & Experience Required
- Degree in Engineering, Manufacturing, or a related field.
- Minimum 3–5 years’ experience in a production management or supervisory role within a manufacturing environment.
- Strong people management skills with a proven ability to lead, coach, and develop teams.
- Experience with ERP/MRP systems, production planning, and resource allocation.
- Working knowledge of Lean Manufacturing and continuous improvement tools.
- Excellent analytical, organisational, and problem-solving skills.
- Strong communication and interpersonal abilities, with a collaborative and supportive leadership style.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, quality-driven environment.
