My client is currently looking for a Product Owner with specific responsibility for one or more Functions. He/She outlines the needs and performances, formal specification development, function architecture based customer and internal specification.
Responsibilities
Function Specification Development
● Communicate with customers in relation to customer specifications to ensure correct understanding of the customer functions and requirements formally complete in conformity matrix (CCM).
● Define the external environment needs/conditions for the function, ie. requirements for other contributing systems in the vehicle – understands how these impact the function operation and performance and communicates to OEM stakeholder on these
● Define the function with respect to boundaries, use cases, conditions and constraints
● Define system requirements for assigned functions. For safety relevant items - defines also mechanisms for fault detection, related reactions and compensatory behaviour in conjunction with Functional Safety team
● Define the uses cases, performance KPIs for the function based on the stakeholder needs and internal client platforms and also in relation to the environmental context of the function (ie. Vehicle systems, specific sensor/hw constellation, operation range…)
● Ensure function is compliant to relevant International regulations and assesses industry standards for applicability to the function
● Document System specifications in line with the clients process methodology and conforming to artefact review & release processes.
● Contribute project planning (Function maturity grades per release etc.)
Function Design/Implementation
● Define the functional architecture based on the Clients platform standards, defines the function interfaces to other product system elements and specifies requirements for these elements, working closely with overall product system architect and other function owners (ie. Interfaces to : Overall Vehicle system, clients Platform elements, Vehicle Communication, Hardware Design, Diagnostics/Error Handling, Configuration & coding)
● Defines the coding & configuration parameters necessary for the function, defines application procedure for their function where required.
● Defines a debug strategy for the function aligning with the overall product system architect – specifying needed debug data & interfaces (logical) and ensuring compatibility with overall development debug strategy for the product.
● Work in conjunction with Test teams to specify any constraints for test strategy & criteria, sets specific test guidance on function KPIs and ensuring test method & test list is satisfactory for function validation
● Reviews function validation results and take necessary actions to determine problem root causes and communicates outcome to wider team
● Supports problem resolution and change management for related functions together with Hardware, Software and Testing. Maintain PDCA/FTA documentation on their function.
● Acts as Technical Lead for the function being able to demonstrate function performance in the vehicle or bench to management/customer, support customer/OEM communications at meetings/workshops or test drive
● Support the System FMEA generation for assigned project
● Develop and perform training/Demos of the given Function(s)
● Perform Technical Reviews of Functional Specs for the given function(s) in line with project expectations and timings
Education / Training
Degree in Software, Electronic, Computer Engineering or equivalent
5+ years of relevant experience
