Product Development Engineer - Galway

My client is seeking a dynamic Product Development Engineer to join their team in Co Galway. In this role, you will play a pivotal part in ushering new products into our manufacturing processes. You will utilize your expertise to ensure seamless integration of products into production lines, while upholding the highest standards of quality and efficiency.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Lead the integration of new products from R&D into production, ensuring smooth transition and timely launch.
  • Optimize production quality post-launch, employing Lean principles and utilizing ERP/MRP software for BOM and work instruction management.
  • Design products based on specifications, incorporating principles of design for manufacture.
  • Drive cost-saving initiatives without compromising on quality standards.
  • Analyze manufacturing processes to enhance efficiency, including workflow, space utilization, and equipment layout.
  • Conduct root cause analysis and troubleshoot production issues effectively.
  • Utilize PTC Creo or equivalent CAD software to refine designs for manufacturability and serviceability.
  • Undertake special projects as assigned, contributing to cross-functional collaboration.
  • Collaborate with departments to assess process capabilities and implement improvements using Lean Principles.
  • Ensure adherence to quality and production processes, maintaining accurate documentation.
  • Establish and maintain effective equipment maintenance procedures.
  • Ensure compliance with Health, Safety, and Environmental regulations in the manufacturing process.

Desired Skills and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s Degree (L8) in Mechanical Engineering.
  • 2-3 years of relevant experience.
  • Strong problem-solving skills with a focus on solutions and attention to detail.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, fostering collaboration across diverse teams.
  • Proficiency in manufacturing processes within a fast-paced environment.
  • Familiarity with PTC Creo or similar CAD software.
  • Exceptional technical report writing, oral communication, and presentation abilities.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks based on project and business needs.
