This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced engineer who enjoys taking products from concept through to production. Working within a multidisciplinary environment, you will play a key role in the design, development, testing, and delivery of next-generation electromechanical products for a growing global market.

    Brief Overview

As part of a dynamic R&D team, you will contribute to the full product development lifecycle, from initial concepts and prototype development through to testing, validation, and manufacturing handover. This role will suit a hands-on engineer who enjoys solving real-world engineering challenges and working closely with software and electronics teams.

    Key Responsibilities

    • Design and develop new products from concept through to production release.
    • Create 3D CAD models, assemblies, and detailed manufacturing drawings.
    • Build, test, and evaluate prototypes in both laboratory and field environments.
    • Conduct product validation and performance testing, documenting findings and recommendations.
    • Collaborate closely with electronics and software engineers on integrated control systems.
    • Participate in technical design reviews and continuous product improvement initiatives.
    • Apply Design for Manufacture (DFM) principles throughout the development process.
    • Perform root cause analysis and implement effective corrective actions.
    • Manage project timelines and development milestones independently.
    • Maintain accurate engineering documentation in line with quality management standards.

    Requirements

    • Degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related engineering discipline.
    • Minimum 3 years' experience in product design or product development.
    • Strong 3D CAD skills, ideally using SolidWorks, CREO, or similar software.
    • Proven ability to take designs from concept through to production handover.
    • Hands-on experience building, testing, and evaluating prototypes.
    • Strong understanding of Design for Manufacture (DFM) principles.
    • Experience working within multidisciplinary teams, including electrical and software engineering functions.
    • Ability to identify root causes, solve problems, and implement corrective actions.
    • Strong project planning and organisational skills with the ability to manage deadlines independently.
    • Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
    • Full driving licence.

    Desirable

    • Experience with DFMEA and risk management methodologies.
    • Project management experience.
    • Experience within a high-volume manufacturing environment.

If you are an innovative and practical engineer who enjoys developing products that make a real impact, we would like to hear from you.
