My Client, based in the West of Ireland are currently recruiting for a number of Manufacturing Engineers who will take ownership of manufacturing processes and equipment within an Autonomous Production Unit. The role focuses on optimizing performance metrics such as OEE, yield, line rejects, and scrap while driving continuous improvement initiatives. The successful candidate will lead efficiency projects across industrialization and labour optimization, apply structured problem solving methodologies, and implement sustainable corrective actions.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement OEE and TLR action plans to maintain and improve KPIs
- Own and manage key processes and equipment aligned with production resource planning
- Take responsibility for designated customer products and part numbers
- Ensure processes and product quality meet internal and customer standards
- Produce project documentation including timing plans, validation reports, OEE reports, build reviews, and operator instructions
- Define operator and technician training needs following product or process changes
- Participate in internal and supplier design reviews
- Implement Kanban systems to optimize material flow in manufacturing cells
- Introduce and sustain 5S standards across production areas
- Present processes to internal and external stakeholders
- Resolve customer quality issues with cross functional teams
- Support operations with technical issue resolution and permanent corrective actions
- Manage product and process changes through formal change control systems
- Maintain audit readiness to internal and external process standards
- Ensure production system requirements are implemented according to agreed roadmaps
Education
- Degree in Manufacturing, Mechanical, Industrial, Electronic, Computer Engineering or related discipline
Experience
- Minimum 5 years in electronics, manufacturing, or similar industry
- Strong knowledge of cellular manufacturing, takt time, APQP, PPAP, MSA, PFMEA, DFM, 5S, and OEE measurement
- Experience with automated manufacturing systems preferred
- Broad engineering background ideally in high volume or high mix production environments such as automotive or electronics
- Experience with engineering change management advantageous
- Proven track record delivering technical projects on time and within budget
- Strong communication, presentation, and people management skills
- Self driven with the ability to perform in dynamic environments
- Flexible approach to duties
Technical Skills
- AI experience desirable
- Programming skills such as Python, C++, Java, NI LabVIEW, or NI TestStand
- PLC coding experience advantageous
- Knowledge of video capture systems such as Power over Coax, I2C, or Ethernet beneficial
