AMF Consulting is partnering with an established organisation to recruit an experienced Logistics Coordinator to join their operations team.
Brief Overview
This is a hands-on role responsible for coordinating day-to-day transport, logistics and dispatch activities across domestic and export markets. You will work closely with warehouse, production, customers and transport providers to ensure orders are dispatched efficiently, deliveries remain on schedule and logistics operations run smoothly.
The ideal candidate will have strong experience in logistics, dispatch or transport operations within a manufacturing or construction environment and be confident managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced setting.
Key Responsibilities
- Coordinate daily transport and logistics activities across domestic and export markets.
- Work with warehouse and production teams to ensure customer orders are prepared and dispatched on time.
- Liaise with customers, internal teams, hauliers, subcontractors and third-party transport providers regarding load planning, scheduling and deliveries.
- Prepare picking lists and coordinate customer orders, collections and dispatches.
- Organise and maintain transport, shipping and export documentation.
- Monitor deliveries and proactively resolve scheduling, transport or customer service issues.
- Plan transport routes and monitor performance to improve efficiency and service levels.
- Maintain accurate logistics, shipment and transport records using ERP and business systems.
- Ensure transport activities comply with company procedures, security requirements and relevant regulations.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives across logistics and dispatch operations.
- Maintain high standards of Health & Safety throughout all logistics activities.
Requirements
- Minimum of 3 years' experience in logistics, dispatch or transport operations.
- Previous experience within a manufacturing or construction environment is essential.
- Strong understanding of logistics, transport and supply chain operations.
- Knowledge of transport regulations, statutory requirements and Health & Safety standards.
- Strong Microsoft Office skills, particularly Excel.
- Experience using ERP systems such as Navision and transport management or routing systems.
- Excellent communication and customer service skills.
- Strong organisational, planning and prioritisation abilities.
- Experience working with drivers, contractors, customers and third-party transport providers.
- A relevant third-level qualification in Supply Chain, Logistics, Business or a related discipline is desirable.
- Forklift licence and/or teleporter certification would be an advantage.
