Based in the West of Ireland, I am currently working closely with a fantastic company to recruit a Lean Manufacturing & Digitalisation Manager.
This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced manufacturing professional with a strong Lean background to lead continuous improvement and digital transformation initiatives within a high-volume production environment. We are particularly interested in candidates who hold a Lean Green Belt or Black Belt certification and have a proven track record of delivering operational excellence in manufacturing settings.
Overview
Reporting into site leadership, this role will be responsible for driving Lean manufacturing principles, embedding a culture of continuous improvement, and leading the implementation of digital manufacturing solutions. The successful candidate will combine hands-on manufacturing expertise with strong analytical and leadership skills to improve productivity, quality, efficiency, and overall operational performance.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead site-wide Lean manufacturing and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Drive programmes focused on waste reduction, productivity improvement, and operational excellence.
- Champion Lean tools including 5S, TPM, SMED, Value Stream Mapping, Standard Work, and Kaizen.
- Conduct Gemba walks and identify opportunities to improve manufacturing processes.
- Develop and monitor KPIs relating to OEE, quality, scrap reduction, and productivity.
- Lead the deployment of digital manufacturing technologies, automation tools, and data-driven solutions.
- Implement real-time performance monitoring and reporting systems.
- Partner with production, quality, and engineering teams to resolve complex manufacturing challenges.
- Support the development of a sustainable continuous improvement culture across the site.
- Ensure successful implementation and adoption of process improvements and digital initiatives.
Requirements
- Degree qualified in Engineering, Manufacturing, Industrial Engineering, Computer Science, or a related discipline.
- Minimum 5 years' experience within a manufacturing environment.
- Demonstrated success leading Lean manufacturing and continuous improvement programmes.
- Lean Green Belt or Black Belt certification is highly desirable.
- Strong understanding of manufacturing operations and production processes.
- Experience implementing digitalisation projects within manufacturing environments.
- Knowledge of MES, IoT, automation, data analytics, or smart manufacturing technologies.
- Experience with programming or automation tools would be advantageous.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
