Our client is seeking an experienced and dedicated Fleet Manager to oversee the efficient management, maintenance, and operation of their vehicle fleet. The role involves ensuring that all vehicles are in excellent working condition, comply with safety and regulatory standards, and are used in a cost-effective manner. Key responsibilities will include scheduling, driver management, and optimizing logistics. The Fleet Manager will play a critical role in maintaining operational efficiency while controlling costs.
Key Responsibilities:
Fleet Operations Management:
- Manage the daily operations of the fleet, ensuring efficient vehicle allocation and usage.
- Monitor fleet performance to ensure optimal efficiency and cost management.
- Develop strategies to enhance operational efficiency and reduce costs, including fuel consumption and maintenance.
Vehicle Maintenance:
- Ensure all vehicles are maintained and serviced on a regular basis.
- Oversee preventive maintenance schedules, inspections, and repairs.
- Coordinate with external vendors for vehicle repairs and maintenance when needed.
Regulatory Compliance:
- Ensure the fleet complies with all legal, environmental, and safety regulations.
- Maintain accurate vehicle documentation, including insurance, registration, and inspections.
- Monitor driver adherence to road safety standards and company policies.
Driver Management:
- Oversee driver performance, ensuring compliance with company policies and standards.
- Monitor driver behavior to ensure safety and efficiency.
Fuel and Cost Management:
- Track and optimize fuel usage across the fleet.
- Manage the fleet budget and forecast future expenses.
- Implement cost-saving initiatives, including route optimization and fuel management programs.
Fleet Tracking & Reporting:
- Use fleet management software to monitor vehicle locations, statuses, and performance.
- Generate reports on key fleet metrics, such as vehicle health, fuel usage, and driver performance.
- Provide regular updates to senior management, including KPI reports on fleet utilization, vehicle downtime, maintenance costs, and recommendations for improvement.
Procurement and Disposal:
- Manage the procurement process for new vehicles, negotiating with suppliers to secure the best terms.
- Oversee the disposal or sale of outdated or underperforming vehicles.

Qualifications:
Education: Bachelor’s degree in logistics, supply chain management, business administration, or a related field (relevant work experience may substitute for formal education).
Experience: 5 years of experience in fleet management, logistics, or a similar role.
Certifications: Certifications in fleet management (e.g., Certified Automotive Fleet Manager, NAFA) are preferred but not required.
License: Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
