AMF Consulting is working with a leading construction client to recruit an Estimator.
This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Estimator to join a busy and growing team, working across a diverse portfolio of residential, commercial, industrial, and educational construction and civil engineering projects.
The successful candidate will play a key role in preparing accurate and commercially competitive estimates, supporting tender submissions, and helping secure new project opportunities.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare commercially sound and technically accurate cost estimates and tender submissions.
- Liaise with quantity surveyors, procurement teams, subcontractors, and other project stakeholders.
- Collaborate with project teams to develop estimating and tendering strategies that align with project objectives.
- Utilise estimating software and Excel to produce accurate and efficient cost plans.
- Support the implementation and ongoing development of estimating systems and processes.
- Keep up to date with building regulations, industry standards, and current construction practices.
- Drive continuous improvement and innovation within estimating and commercial functions.
- Assess the benefits of Modern Methods of Construction (MMC) versus traditional construction approaches.
- Develop value engineering options for tender submissions.
- Assist with successful tender handovers to project delivery teams.
Requirements
- Previous experience in an Estimator role within construction or civil engineering - ideally 8-10 years experience
- Strong understanding of tendering and estimating processes.
- Excellent commercial awareness and analytical skills.
- Proficiency in estimating software and Microsoft Excel.
- Strong communication and stakeholder management abilities.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple tender deadlines.
