Our client—an innovative Irish manufacturer—is expanding its R&D team. They are looking for an Electronics Technician who can blend solid electronic-repair skills with practical mechanical know-how. You will work alongside a multidisciplinary group of electronics, software, and mechanical engineers, helping to refine next-generation systems and other sensor-driven products.
This is a hands-on role that will suit someone who enjoys problem-solving, prototyping and field-testing equipment in real-world farm environments.

Diagnostics & Repair
|
• Troubleshoot electronic control systems on automated units.
• Identify faults in sensor arrays, pumps, heaters, and actuators.

Prototype Build & Test
|
• Assemble electronic and mechanical sub-assemblies from schematics & wiring diagrams.
• Run bench and field tests; capture data, document results, and suggest design improvements.

Product Development Support
|
• Work closely with engineering on new feature trials and durability studies.
• Participate in on-farm evaluations and provide feedback on reliability and usability.

Compliance & Safety
|
• Ensure all builds meet electrical safety and industry standards.
• Maintain accurate test reports and technical files.

Desired Skills & Experience
- Education: Diploma/Degree in Electronics, Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics—or equivalent trade qualification with proven experience.
- Experience: 2 + years’ hands-on electronic troubleshooting in agricultural, automotive, industrial, or domestic-appliance settings.
- Technical Toolkit: Multimeters, oscilloscopes, schematic reading, AC/DC power systems, relays, motor controls, and basic PLC familiarity.
- Electro-Mechanical Know-How: Pumps, heating elements, sensors, actuators, fluid systems; welding or light fabrication skills are a plus.
- Software: Comfortable with MS Office 365 for test documentation and reporting.
- Soft Skills: Clear communicator able to translate technical issues for non-technical users; self-starter who can work independently in workshops and on-farm locations.
- Extras (advantageous, not essential): Experience with livestock automation, dairy technologies, car-mechanic background, full driving licence.
