My client based in Galway is a leading global manufacturer specializing in medical devices and advanced technologies. This organization serves multiple markets, including cardiac, neuromodulation, orthopedics, vascular, advanced surgical, and portable medical sectors.
They are currently seeking an EHSS Engineer II to support and enhance workplace safety systems and ensure compliance with all applicable Environmental, Health, Safety, and Security (EHSS) regulations. This role is integral in fostering a safe work environment while aligning with company goals and regulatory standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Ensure adherence to company values, safety protocols, environmental regulations, and quality requirements.
- Apply EHSS knowledge to maintain and improve safety, environmental protection, equipment safety, and security programs.
- Collaborate with site leadership to implement EHSS strategies, programs, and compliance initiatives.
- Lead cross-functional teams to drive continuous improvements in workplace safety and environmental sustainability.
- Maintain records, permits, and reports in compliance with local, state, and federal regulations.
- Train employees on policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements.
- Identify and mitigate workplace hazards through job hazard analysis and corrective actions.
- Investigate workplace incidents, support workers’ compensation claims, and assist with return-to-work programs.
- Monitor, audit, and report on EHSS compliance efforts and best practices.
- Liaise with government agencies, emergency responders, and customers to ensure EHSS compliance.
- Perform additional duties as needed.
Qualifications & Experience:
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Health & Safety, Occupational Safety, Industrial Hygiene, Engineering, Science, or a related field.
- Experience: 1-3 years of EHSS experience in a manufacturing environment.
- Skills: Strong attention to detail, problem-solving, and organizational abilities. Excellent public speaking, communication, and leadership skills. Ability to work independently and collaboratively.
- Knowledge: Familiarity with federal, state, and local EHSS regulations. Understanding of safety standards, hazardous materials transportation, process safety, emergency response, and ergonomics. Certifications in First Aid, CPR, and AED are preferred.
