AMF Consulting is working with a pioneering technology company developing advanced edge-AI and perception solutions for robotics, automotive, and intelligent embedded systems.
We are seeking an experienced Director of Application Stack Software to lead the strategy, development, and delivery of a developer-focused software ecosystem. This leadership role combines software engineering management, technical product ownership, and customer engagement, offering the opportunity to influence both product direction and business growth.
You will build and lead a high-performing software team while defining the roadmap for SDKs, developer tools, framework integrations, reference applications, and overall developer experience.
Responsibilities
- Define and execute the software vision and multi-year roadmap.
- Lead the architecture and development of SDKs, developer tools, simulators, profilers, debuggers, and framework integrations.
- Build, mentor, and scale distributed software engineering teams.
- Drive delivery against key product and development milestones.
- Establish best-in-class developer experience, documentation, and support processes.
- Work closely with hardware, product, programme management, and commercial teams.
- Lead software-focused customer and partner engagements.
- Implement modern engineering practices including CI/CD, test automation, AI-assisted development tools, and productivity frameworks.
- Own software release processes, quality standards, and long-term support strategy.
Requirements
Essential
- Proven experience delivering software for custom accelerators, AI processors, GPUs, DSPs, or similar platforms.
- Strong technical expertise in at least two of the following:
- Computer vision and ISP pipelines
- Edge AI deployment
- Developer tools and SDK development
- ML framework integration
- Reference application development
- Experience with modern ML frameworks such as PyTorch, ONNX, and Hugging Face.
- Track record leading and growing high-performing engineering teams.
- Experience owning technical roadmaps and engaging with customers and stakeholders.
- Strong understanding of modern software development practices, automation, and AI-assisted engineering workflows.
- Excellent communication and leadership skills.
Desirable
- Experience within semiconductor, edge-AI, or deep-tech environments.
- Background in machine vision, perception systems, or imaging technologies.
- Contributions to open-source AI, robotics, or developer tooling projects.
