An opportunity has arisen for a Design Engineer to join my Galway Client, a leading R&D center. The successful candidate will be part of the R&D Engineering team, responsible for driving improvements through design and innovation on products. This role involves working as part of a local and EMEA-wide team, contributing to various productivity and product enhancement projects, ensuring timely delivery and high-quality results.
Responsibilities
- Identify, design, and deliver engineering projects that support factory, supplier, and customer needs while meeting productivity and reliability requirements.
- Utilize problem-solving tools and techniques to develop solutions for existing products and new product development.
- Work within the New Product Development (NPD) process, from initial design to factory integration.
- Plan, schedule, and report on projects using professional Project Management techniques, coordinating with non-engineering functions as needed.
- Develop, implement, and coordinate validation plans alongside Test and Reliability teams, employing systematic methodologies such as DFMEA, DVP&R.
- Apply Large Assembly Techniques and maintain a detailed understanding of BOM (Bill of Materials) and design structures.
- Proficiency in ProE software is a strong advantage.
Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelor's or Master’s degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering or a related discipline.
- Previous experience in relevant industries such as mechanical, electrical, industrial, agricultural machinery, or automotive is desirable.
- Proficiency in Creo Parametric software is a distinct advantage.
- Strong ability to manage product cost and NPD projects with global teams and partners.
- Experience with New Product Development (NPD) process, DFMEA, Six Sigma is beneficial.
- Fluent English is required; an additional European language is an advantage.
