About the Role
My client is currently seeking a Civils Supervisor to oversee the day-to-day delivery of civil works on public lighting and utility projects. Acting as the key link between clients, project managers, and on-site crews, you will ensure projects are completed safely, on time, and to the highest standards.
This role involves managing capital works and maintenance projects, coordinating with local authorities and utility providers, and maintaining excellent health, safety, and environmental practices.
Key Responsibilities
- Supervise on-site civils crews and subcontractors, ensuring safe and efficient project delivery.
- Oversee civil works including ducting, trenching, reinstatement, and foundations for public lighting.
- Maintain safe working practices around existing utilities and lighting infrastructure.
- Meet clients on-site to agree scope of works, resolve issues, and manage expectations.
- Liaise with project managers, local authorities, and utility providers to coordinate approvals and progress.
- Carry out site audits and inspections to ensure compliance with Health & Safety standards.
- Monitor quality and workmanship throughout project delivery.
- Keep accurate site records and documentation for reporting and client updates.
- Support the coordination of plant, materials, and resources to ensure smooth workflow.
Qualifications & Experience
- Level 6/7 qualification in Civil Engineering/Construction (or equivalent experience).
- Previous supervisory experience in civil/utility works (water, power, telecoms, gas, or public lighting).
- Strong understanding of Health & Safety standards and reinstatement requirements.
- Experience coordinating site crews and subcontractors.
- Knowledge of safe working around utilities and Purple Book standards for trenching & reinstatement.
- SLG (Sign, Lighting & Guarding) certification.
- Safe Pass and site supervision/management training.
