AMFConsulting is partnering with a leading organisation in the utilities and infrastructure sector to recruit an experienced Civil/Architectural Design Engineer. This role offers the opportunity to take ownership of design outputs across a high-volume portfolio of public lighting and reinstatement projects, working within a supportive team environment with excellent scope for progression.
With offices based in Mayo, Galway, Limerick and Cork this role can be done from any of these locations onsite/hybrid
The Opportunity
This role suits a technically strong engineer who enjoys detailed design work, thrives in a structured project environment, and can confidently manage drawing production, BOQs, and coordination with engineering and project leads. You will play a key role in ensuring high-quality deliverables across multiple nationwide sites.
Key Responsibilities
- Produce and manage detailed 2D civil, reinstatement, and utilities drawings using AutoCAD.
- Complete accurate quantity take-offs and prepare Bills of Quantities (BOQs).
- Ensure all drawings comply with project specifications, standards, and quality requirements.
- Manage timelines and deliverables independently while supporting project workflows.
- Collaborate with engineers and project managers to resolve design or technical issues.
- Maintain clear and organised drawing records, documentation, and revision histories.
- Contribute to continuous improvement, design efficiencies, and best-practice processes.
Experience & Qualifications
- Degree in Civil Engineering, Architectural Engineering, or related field.
- 4+ years’ design/drafting experience within civil engineering, utilities, or related sectors.
- Proven experience with civil works, utilities, or residential development projects.
- Strong proficiency in AutoCAD 2D; additional design software is an advantage.
- Experience preparing BOQs and working with civils budgets.
- Road opening licence experience is highly desirable.
