Civil Engineer – Public Lighting & Utilities Projects
Location: Primarily office-based with options for hybrid work. Offices based in either Mayo, Galway, Limerick or Cork
Overview
I am partnering up with a Client involved in the Utilities sector and I am seeking an enthusiastic Civil/Architectural Design Engineer to support the design and documentation of civil works and reinstatement plans for public lighting projects across multiple sites. This is an excellent opportunity for a recent graduate or an engineer with up to two years' experience to develop strong design, drafting, and project coordination skills. Full induction and training will be provided.
Key Responsibilities
- Produce accurate 2D civil and reinstatement drawings using AutoCAD.
- Carry out quantity take-offs and assist in preparing Bills of Quantities (BOQs).
- Work independently to meet project deadlines and follow design workflows.
- Ensure all drawings are clear, detailed, and aligned with project standards.
- Collaborate with engineering and project management teams to resolve design queries.
- Maintain well-organised drawing files and revision records.
Education & Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Architectural Engineering, or related discipline.
- Basic road opening licence course desirable (training can be supported).
- Up to 2 years’ experience in design, drafting, utilities, or site-related work.
- Experience with residential or housing development projects is an advantage.
- Familiarity with BOQs and civils budgets is a plus.
