Position Overview

As an Camera Image Quality Engineer you will be a key member delivery cutting edge, next generation autonomous driving applications. You will support in testing and validation of cutting edge Vision Systems. This will include optics, electronic and opto-mechanical validation. Working closely with some of the largest OEM’s in the industry you will lead the definition, planning, delivery and validation of best in class viewing and analytics features in line with cutting edge automotive vision applications.

 

Responsibilities

●             Deliver state of the art, best in class image quality for viewing and machine vision applications

●             Validate the Camera Image Quality performance to the latest industry standards

●             Actively coordinate with project management, hardware, mechanical, optics, manufacturing and system test engineers to ensure full planning, implementation, validation and traceability of requirements relating to your assigned function.

●             Define and maintain development plans for your assigned function within a project and provide regular engineering reports on status and performance of same.

●             Manage the validation of your assigned feature throughout its development in both the Laboratory and Test Vehicle in line with best practices and customer expectations.

●             Interface directly to your counterparts at customers to plan and agree development of your assigned function.

●             Interface directly with suppliers to ensure requirements are clearly defined, communicated and delivered.

●             Work innovatively and creatively within the group with a particular focus on protecting innovation and IP through the patent process

 

Required Skills/Experience

●             Second class honours degree or higher in Physics, Electronics or similar degree

●             Understanding of Electronics Fundamentals, Solid State Physics

●             Understanding of Optics Fundamentals

●             Excellent English language communication skills, both written and verbal

●             High level of innovation and motivation

 

Desired Attributes

●             Experience in one or more of these areas preferred: Image Processing, Signal Processing, Computer Vision desirable but not essential

●             Automotive industry experience desirable but not essential

●             Experience with PC-based simulation tools (e.g. Matlab, Simulink)

●             Experience with Image Quality assessment software (e.g. Imatest, Image Engineering) desirable but not essential

●             Strong programming skills (C, C++, MATLAB, Python etc), desirable but not essential
